OK. Here's the deal... When driving on the highway, I use cruise control. It works fine. Then, when I turn off the highway, and the cruise control has been disengaged by hitting the brakes, the gas pedal seems stiffer than usual. The car still drives fine, but the pedal seems stiff. When the pedal is stiff, if I give it about 3/4 gas, the pedal makes a clunking noise, then goes back to its normal stiffness. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the cause?

Possible problem with Cruise Control

It drives ok, and the cruise "grabs" and "lets go" as it should it's just a little wierd having the clunking noise after hitting the gas pedal. It's almost like a vacuum problem. The cruise control runs on vacuum, right?
