hey all,
I have posted on here a couple times thinking about getting a v6 bird...sorry say I am going with a v8...anyway got a little story for ya. A few nights ago 2 of my friends were going to college so a guy i knew got out "almost" his 94 GT with a 5sp. We all rode around in it for a while...blah blah blah. Later that night we gain one more person. So I get in my monte carlo which only has a 3.1 in it. We pull up to a stop light and i figure what the hell, when the light turns green we both hit it and he couldnt pull away! I couldnt believe my 3.1 was keeping up and acually ahead of his stang with its 5.0 5sp V8! we only went up to about 60 mph... in a 35(whoops). But I am willing to bet he would pull away after that but wow...I was surprised to say the least.
I was sceptical at first when they say 3.8's can beat GT's...now it is much clearer that they can if my little 3.1 can hold its own.
