Where is the Anti-Freeze going?

My temp Gauges wasnt working right, so I installed a thermostat.
Well the gauges works now.

Anyhow, i took the housing off to install the thermostat and noticed not alot of fluid in the block. Now a couple weeks before that I put antifreeze in... So where is it going? also the car is taking some time to heat up, and when it does, its real fast then stays at mid mark.

Any thoughts? The oil looks clean. altho I have to get a new oil pan and gasket which isnt cheap from the dealer, and the auto parts place doesnt sell them. Ugh. Junk Yard here I go.


Any thoughts? Please dont say a blown head gasket... because I really dont want to get into that right now..

did you take the cap off and have to fill it or did you just look where the thermo goes and see hardly any coolant?

no leaks, filled rad up couple weeks later its low, no smoke, but when its cold out I DO notice a white cloud, but it is cold outside. after the car warms up its gone.

I have the same problem, I fill my radiator up full then like 2 weeks later its 3-4inches down and slow gets lower and lower. I have some black smoke on start up but that is it running rich. I have to change my oil before the change oil light because my oil get down to the add 1 quart mark. When I do change my oil it has no signs of coolant in it. I have no leaks at all even had it running as I checked in the engine bay to see if anything is dripping on the engine and just evaporating but nothing. But I have never flushed out my radiator ever 72k. Sorry for the thread jack Archer.

lol i have a random newb question, wheres the coolant cap located and how much is it for coolant?

its on the pass side. kinda flows in with the rest of the car.. I couldnt find it at first, but then I saw it when I wasnt looking for it... I was like DE DE DE...
