What, if any, differences have you all noticed running a 180 thermostat, compared to stock, and also compared to a 160? Is it a worthy mod?

Ive noticed the car runs colder =P. Id say if u have 97 and previous I think it is, with the 195 thermo, my 97 has one, Go with the 180 if u arnt able to keep ur heat down. In my car I flushed the coolant and put in one thing of red line water wetter with my coolant and I never get above 195 when im driving, in trafic it raises a little bit, but doesnt pass 210 like it used to.

Oo and I have the 195 thermo in there. I dont see the point of getting one for me right now, Im in San diego so it gets hot- I think I might get one for summer. Especially with all the cruzing I do it would be nice to not heat up

Yes, 180 and 160 stats are great. I run the 160, no problems.

I run a 180 thermo. The car runs cooler.

Also, I use to have trouble with knock when I ran 87 octane. The car running cooler helped with that.

On the negative side, it seems to take awhile to heat the car up when it is cold outside. This winter was especially bad.
