  • Oil pressure drop

    Hi,
I have a prob with my 3.8 and i'm a little worried. My oil pressure when cold is about 55psi but when the car is warn the pressure is 40 but the pressure drop a very little when i accelerate (i can't see it move).

What do you think? Bad sensor, oil filter, engine prob.

When i bought the car in march the pressure was always at ~60.

I have no noise comming and the car run great.

    Many thanks for your help.

Same thing mine did. Your ok. I think GM says anything over 10psi is fine. This has been talked about in past. I wouldn't worry too much.

I will do an oil flush with 5w30 and delco filter. I will see.
I want to buy an autometer guage to see the presure but does i can use the stock port for the pressure?

if i don't use extra the pressure is the same. The baddest i have seen is the quart mark on heavy traffic this summer but with the time the pressure drop a little by little by day.

            Thanks
