Can i use my camaro parts on my firebird

first, i've used the maf sensor off my 97 camaro 3.8 automatic on my 98 firebird 3.8 5-spd and it didnt work well..and I swapped the EGR valves out..and the firebird ran bad then. so i'm assuming all parts arent interchangable.

what i wanna know is.. are the coil packs interchangable and are the stock spark plugs? basically, i have the 97 camaro but i'm not driving it right now, plus i'm low on money.. so i'm just gonna take the coil packs and spark plug wires off to use on my firebird. same engines.

everything on your 97 is interchangeable with 98 engine other than 98 intake lid on the 97.

you have other issues if those parts are not working out for you. Either they both were junk or the parts you replaced were not the problems in the first place

Also do not reuse the spark plugs, get some new ones

wasnt re-using the spark plugs. already changed those.

spark plug wires should be alright to change out though right? i dont know how much they cost..fixing to look

i was gonna swap the radiators out today and noticed theres something different. they both have the black hose going in the same spot, but the camaro has 1 aluminum pipe going to a spot at the bottom..........but the firebird has a different looking pipe going there.. i think it was bigger too.
it got dark outside so i'll look again tomorrow.

You may be looking at the trans cooler lines for the automatic.

yeah

so what do i do when i put the radiator out of the camaro automatic into the firebird 5-spd? do i need to rinse out the transmission fluid out of that radiator real good? i noticed the firebird just has "block off" screws for 2 spots.. only thing now is.. i'm afraid to unbolt that one plug that goes to the Air conditioner i believe. i believe it has alot of pressure in it right? i dont know what the ***** to blow up in my face. do i just unbolt the bolt that holds it to the radiator. do i take the black cap off and relieve some pressure?

Leave the A/C condenser in the car, it will separate from the radiator . You don't need to undo the lines from that. Just wash the fluid out of the trans cooler so it doesn't drip after you put it in the 5 speed car. You can just leave those open.

on the camaro automatic there was another pipe that had a clear fluid in it. what is that stuff? i think it was right above the trans cooler pipe.

Did it go in the radiator just underneath the cap? Can you take a picture of it ?

nah, i think its almost at the bottom of the radiator under the trans coolant part. has a big nut on it, i had to use 2 wrenches to get it off. but it poured out a clear liquid, feels like jell.. like shampoo or something. hah. i think the firebird has the same thing going to it..so i need to know what it is so i can re-fill it since alot of drains out when u unbolt it.

I don't see anything around the radiator that should leak clear fluid. Can you post a picture of what the clear fluid is coming out of?

its only on the automatic camaro.

MY car is an automatic Firebird, should be the same under the hood.
