Yeah, I would change the O2's and do any other basic maintenance. I say your O2's have never been changed, if your spark plugs had 100k on them. :omg:

Also, when installing O2's, a FYI, don't hit the new O2's hard on anything(like dropping them or hitting them on the car to hard when installing them). Or you'll damage the new O2's.

sounds like a mix of a few things and a poorly maintained car. o2 sensors then do your plugs.

I haven't replaced them yet. I don't get a paycheck till the 6th. So replacing these will help out my gas mileage a good bit? On a side, and somewhat related note, I was talking to a friend of mine who owns a 94 3.4 a4 Camaro. He said that also at high rpms he smells a burning smell and that he also occasionally smells the car running lean. Lol. So it's not just me.

he should not be smelling a burning smell. and I'm curious but how does he smell lean? rich, yes... it just smells of gas... but lean?

let us know how the O2's affect the car, and we'll move on from there..

Yeah. you're right. It's running rich, not lean. I was getting mixed up. Oh and a new "symptom" developed yesterday. When I start up the car, I let it warm up a bit then I take off. The car will run smooth as anything then it'll start stuttering really bad. It's an even, but rough stutter. And I smell it running rich and it backfired a few times. What is this? The burning smell is from when I'm in drive and rev to like 4 - 4.5k. I smell a burning smell. Transmission?
