  • Thermostat Rating, According to the Manual

Happened to be leafing through the owners manual yesterday and got into the "Capacities" section. There is a listing for the thermostat rating. It calls for a 180º thermostat. This is in a 1996. I know that when I replaced it I used a 180º, but the old one was a 195º. However, I do not know that the old one was the original stock thermostat.

I know there has been a lot of debate about this. I would imagine that if we all looked in the owners manual for different years we would get a definitive answer to this once and for all.

Then why does my owners manual call for a 180º thermostat?

Trust me its a 195... if you don't believe me look at your fan settings compared to a 180 deg custom fan settings. or even think about WHY THEY HAVE TO HAVE CUSTOM TUNING FOR A 180 THERMO!!!

I believe that the stock thermostat is 195º, I am just curious if anyone else has 180º in there manual.
