Thermostat Rating, According to the Manual

  • Thermostat Rating, According to the Manual

    Happened to be leafing through the owners manual yesterday and got into the "Capacities" section. There is a listing for the thermostat rating. It calls for a 180º thermostat. This is in a 1996. I know that when I replaced it I used a 180º, but the old one was a 195º. However, I do not know that the old one was the original stock thermostat.

    I know there has been a lot of debate about this. I would imagine that if we all looked in the owners manual for different years we would get a definitive answer to this once and for all.

    in my 94 it had a 195* stock

      there is no debate stock thermo is 195deg

          the owners manual is wrong. its a 180 in the v8. the v6 has a 195. dont believe everything you read.

            Trust me its a 195... if you don't believe me look at your fan settings compared to a 180 deg custom fan settings. or even think about WHY THEY HAVE TO HAVE CUSTOM TUNING FOR A 180 THERMO!!!

              I believe that the stock thermostat is 195º, I am just curious if anyone else has 180º in there manual.

                yep, I just read that yesterday going thru the capacities and standards in the manual.
