I have a few things that are bugging me.

#1 - My radio/CD player has begun to randomly shut off. It will do it when the radio is on or if I'm playing a CD. The clock will go black, the music will stop, and the antenna will go down. Sometimes it happens for a second, sometimes it stays off for a minute. If it shuts off, nothing I can do will bring it back on, I just have to wait for it to decide to turn back on? It's annoying. I have the stock Monsoon system. Just to note, I noticed that when it turns off, only the clock goes blank, not the lights on the buttons or anything else.

#2 - One of my speakers must be going bad, because I'm hearing a crackling behind my right ear. I'm wondering how will I know which one is bad, and how hard will it be to replace?

#3 - When I from park to drive, drive to park, or whatever, the button on the knob doesn't pop back out and click. Its not causing any problems, its just annoying. Anyone know whats causing that?

#4 - And I know people have had this problem before, but while driving, and it seems to only happen in colder whether. I hear a annoying squeaking coming from the back of the car. I have read its the hatch causing the noise, or the spare tire, but I haven't figured it out. Anyone know what that really is?

    Thanks

#1-I have the same problem. Until you get a new radio, whenever it shuts off, hold both your window switches down (either to make the windows go up or down, doesn't matter), then keep locking and unlockign your car. I think it's a bad relay somewhere. Most of the tiem this works.

#2-Yes oyu probably have a blown speaker. You should turn the fade all the way to the abck and rotate the balance from one side to the other. This will tell you which one is blown

        Re: Some Problems

No one is going to be able to tell you where your squeak is coming from. We can give you quesses based on common squeaks, but you will have to track it down.

That's part of the fun (I guess) of owning a f-body. I use to take a bunch of towels out with me to track down squeaks. I would drive and listen for the squeak, pull over, use a towel to try to stop the squeak, and repeat until I found it or gave up.

          hahahhahahaha

to solve the first two problems... save up some money and buy a new aftermarket head unit and buy some new speakers while your at it.

The squeaking is prolly your spare tire. take off the plastic cover on the rear right and either tighten the bolt up that holds the tire in place or just pull it all out and consider it weight reduction =)

I have a rag between my tire iron and the jack. No matter how much I tighten it down, it steal squeaked.

              Re: Some Problems

I took some door insulation from an old door we had (dad's truck got hit in the door, we just replaced it instead of repairing). I put a piece between the jack and the metal, a piece between the nut and the big washer thing that holds the tire in place and once between the big washer and the tire's rim. No more squeaks :D. After I did that and raise the stops on my hatch, my car has no squeaks now :D, just alot of wind noise :(

                Re: Some Problems

Ok, well it wasn't the hatch latch or the spare tire causing my squeak. It was my backseat latch causing it. I folded the seat down and drove around and no squeak at all. So I just put some tape around the latch part and no more squeak.

The radio still is acting up though.

the first problem wont be solved by installing a new head unit - talking from experience. it is a common problem in our cars, and its due to a short in the BCM (body control module.) ive never replaced mine because i think their pretty expensive, but ive noticed that if i keep my fog lights off and interior lights turned off it usually never has the problem. and if it does, just hit the door unlock button.
