  • water in oil or just small condensation

Well I was checking my fluids and well I always pull the engine oil cap to look for milky oil well there were little specs of milky stuff maybe 3-4 at most. Well to make sure I checked the dip stick and nothing but nice clean oil. No white smoke the only smoke I get is on start up and thats a slit blackish color (running rich) smell like pure gas. I am concerned that my coolent level never stays full but I dont know where its going though oils always been fine and the car has never leaked anything. So I guess I'm asking about two things is it possible that its just alittle condensation sence its winter or is it head or intake gasket gone to $hit. An where is my coolent going if its not being burnt or leaking? Thanks

I have a slight coolant leak too. Mine just drips off onto the ground though. I found it while doing my header install, so check back there. Nothing major, I just have to check the coolant every other week or so.

If you are losing coolant and don't know where its going and have this, I'd look into replacing everything...

My car never overheated, was losing coolant, then one day stalled. Had bad engine knock and lots of mixing.

fixed one headgasket and lower intake, and still had a leak on the other headgasket.

the knock eventually went away but was there for awhile, I wasn't trusting it, and made that a starting point to get rid of the car.

Has the car been sitting for a bit?? Sitting car + dew point temp chages = moisture collection. Not a big deal as long as you do regular oil changes.

ya know i have this same problem. If I remember right I have NEVER seen the Tan Moca on my dip stick, yet, I have checked my radiator and have never seen oil in there aswell... Now damn it this has me confused!!!! Just when I thought I knew it was the head gasket someone had to go screw it up! lol

This car has been sitting for a while, but I tell you this.. the antifreeze isnt going on the ground at all... I drove the car to Va beach from Findlay Ohio which is just SOUTH of Toledo.. so we are talking 11 hours straight through and no stall, no rough idle, nothing but missing antifreeze.. car runs FINE! I seriously cant find anything wrong with it.

Daily driven never sits. I was just thinking that the plastic pipe coming out of the valve cover was making some sort of condensation so thats why I was getting some little spots of milky stuff.

I also had a coolant that was mysteriously vanishing...ended up being the intake gasket. Got it fixed, but it was a little too late. Coolant in the crankcase is a horrible thing, and wreaked havoc on my bearings, but I was not aware of that damage until later that summer when i spun a bearing and had to spend my last paycheck to help my parents pay for a new 3.8 plus many hours of labor.

I've had the worst luck with main bearings. The first day I had the car, I took it for an evening drive so I could show some of my friends who were interested in seeing it. I never even hit the redline, and wasn't pushing it that hard at all for that matter, I was just cruising around with the t-tops off enjoying the moment. Then out of nowhere it spun a bearing, and we went back to the seller the next day, who was not aware of any engine problems with this car, and insisted that if we found another 3.8 then he would put it in free of charge.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, my bank account is not ready for Engine Swap: Round 3.

White stuff in the oil? Sounds like your engine got f*ed. :D

Get an oil change and see if it comes back. The coolant might only leak when under pressure/at higher temps.
