I generally run Sunoco. Mainly because it's a decent brand, they're right down the road, and they're just about always 3-5 cents cheaper then anyone else. I run 93 octane. Mods are headers, 3" cat-back, no cat, CAI, some drivetrain, and wires and plugs (one range colder than stock). Trying to keep 93 in it for when I do my build up :D

Little personally-owned station in the southside that lets me keep a tab. Used to be Fina, I guess. That or a Phillip's 66 in Wedington. Other than that around here, it's primarily Valero. Everything else is being run out. And I use 87 octane, cuz anything higher is pretty much useless with my stock tune.

I only filled up one time at BP with 87 and it threw a check engine light at me. After i drove around for a week with the light on, i filled it back up with SHell 93 and after 15 minutes it went off.. i never did get it scanned so i never knew what it could be.. I dont know if it was BP or if it was the 87 doing it. One day i will buy a scanner and fill it up with 87 and see.. anyone have any guesses?

Just some thoughts...

1st Jet chips really do not provide much performance

2nd unless you have advanced timing FI, or High compression, you will not see benefits of 93 octane over 87, just wasting $0.20 a gallon.

3rd Really doesn't matter what gas you use, its all the same. The tankers bring in oil/gas to ports. The port fills up trucks. The port does not distinguish what gas goes where, its a liquid. They fill a community tank, then they load the trucks at whatever schedule works best for the trucks.

The only real thing that should determine if you will buy gas is....

-gas station, if it looks like an old pos, might be an old pos, new station will have new gas tanks, better equipment.
-price... obviously... a factor
-Any problems you have with the company...

back in the day with the exxon valdez, people didn't like Exxon, so didn't buy it. Thats less money in Exxon's pocket.

Currently, Chavez, sort of Dictator of Venezuela, controls alot of oil and hates America... Recently said if the US displays any negative press about the recent elections there he was going to cut all oil to the US(the day he was going to do it was monday this week). (would **** up oil prices big time)

I avoid his stations, I know he will still make money, for awhile alot of peopel were boycotting Citgo, and the price actually dropped a few cents, but then people quickly started going there raising the price again. I just feel good knowing my money doesn't go to him. Even if I have to pay an extra $2-3 a tank.

oh yeah... PS, its not uncommon to get a tank of bad gas once in awhile, I have gotten them from just about everywhere...

My girlfriend got one on her car, had high sulfur content and destroyed her fuel sending unit. Luckily it was a big thing and Shell paid for all repairs.

i try to stay at bp. from what i've heard the oil companys import they're own oil. i dont remember where i heard that.
