  • drain coolant? yes or no?

ok so i just got myself a new 160 degree duralast thermostat and helix throttle body spacer, (along wit a hypertech power programmer III, ngk iridium spark plugs, msd ignition wires, and pacesetter headers  ). anyways the question is, should i drain the coolant when i do this? i no its gonna leak a quart or so, just wondered if it is better to drain the coolant first, instead of letting it leak.

in case yall wanna hear since i only post every once in a blue moon
    total mod list so far...
halo lights, altezza taillights, 3" exhaust, high flow cat, cherry bomb muffler, custom intake, floorboard neons, an the new stuff stated above, more to come l8r.

P.S. any thoughts or ideas on my setup or suggestions for future greatly appreciated:)

I didn't drain it, just pop the radiator cap to de pressurize the system, the pull off the houseing. Didn't even take the hose off. You might leak out a little, just get a small cup or a few shop towels. Then put it all back together start the car and top it off with some water or antifreeze if you have it handy.

Note: throttle body spacers don't do sh!t on fuel injected cars.

I dunno if you want my thoughts or ideas.... but here they are
ditch the altezzas, the cherry bomb and the neons, you drive a Camaro not a Civic.

the neons are inside the car not outside, im not that crazy! O_o ^
as for the TBS ive heard that they dont do much of anything on stock but a lil bit of gain with other mods. an its only 50 bucks so i figured what the hell. thx for the reply. yay i dont have to drain coolant now!

P.S. cherry bomb is actually a good sounding muffler, they've been around since the early muscle car days of the 50's not really a ricer muffler

no need to drain, and it is no where near a quart that you lose as you are taking something off at the top of the cooling system.

You will have some drip out, but yea no need to drain. Top it off when you are done and open the air valve to drain out the air once it is back together or you will have an air bubble in there
