Well as of late, it's been pretty chilly out. The car has been running great. Today it got to about 80. With it being chilly out, My coolant temp hasn't been past 140. Today it got higher because of the warmer weather. Generally when this happens, I get to where I need to be, I shut the car off, come back, crank it up and it misfires like all hell while backfiring and whatnot. Usually it smoothes out after a few minutes of driving. Well today it didn't. Most times, the solution to this problem is for me to park the car, pop the hood and let it cool off. That will usually fix it. Well, this time it didn't. It still does this. It misfires like all hell and doesn't want to accelerate past 10 mph. Then when it does, if I give it more gas than is necessary to maintain the current speed, it chokes up and doesn't respond for about 1.5 - 2 seconds then it kicks up some and slowly accelerates while still misifiring and backfiring. This is really wearing on me and I need to know wtf is going on. Any ideas? I changed the plugs and wires about 2 months ago. Guys help me out. I really need to get this fixed. I have nothing else to drive. lol. Sorry if I seem a bit repetitive/incoherent. I have a bit of rum in me.

Re: Serious Problem! Need help ASAP!
Someone at the AutoZone suggested that it was the MAP sensor. Said his car was doing the exact same thing and that's what he had to replace to fix it. The b**** about it is, if I spend the 50 bucks to get it replaced and that's not the problem, I have a new MAP sensor, but the car is still broke PLUS I'm out 50 bucks. I only have like 65 and that has to last me for the next 2 weeks for gas. >_<Originally posted by LETZRIDEI've never touched a rear end before

Re: Serious Problem! Need help ASAP!
And btw, I found the ICM for 85.99 @ AutoZone. I really don't wanna buy this thing and find out it's not what I need. Give me a percentage of how likely it is that this is my problem. I'm really tight for money, as previously said.Originally posted by LETZRIDEI've never touched a rear end before

Re: Serious Problem! Need help ASAP!
New development! When I went to connect the two prongs in the OBD plug, instead of flashing trouble codes back through the SES light, my radiator fan cuts on. F***ing wonderful. I'm going to try to take it to a diagnostic shop tomorrow. Any ideas on general cost of having this done?Originally posted by LETZRIDEI've never touched a rear end before

Originally posted by tkoforpresidenti have a 93 and flashing the codes has never worked, you have to get an obd 1 scanner. My uncle had one and i was able to use it. You are getting a code right?Originally posted by LETZRIDEI've never touched a rear end before

Re: Serious Problem! Need help ASAP!
Well I got it scanned on a diagnostic today. Lucky me, I know the auto shop teacher at the local high school. It was throwing 6 codes.
1. TPS sensor low voltage
2. Low AC charge
3. Low AC charge
4. EGR Solenoid 1 Error
5. EGR Solenoid 2 Error
6. EGR Solenoid 3 Error
I talked it over with the teacher and decided to go up to AutoZone. I bought a TP sensor for like 26 bucks. I replaced it and fired it up. Throttle response is better, but it chokes up and falls on it's face if I punch it even at 40-50% throttle. I have to give it a very little bit of gas to start to accelerate and slowly push it in further in order to gain some speed. It smooths out some after a bit once the car gets heated up to a good operating temp. Its still backfiring. It's running like 5h!t. I don't think it's the fuel pump b/c it's still getting gas. And the TPS helped little to none. the MAP sensor wasn't throwing a code. Any ideas?Originally posted by LETZRIDEI've never touched a rear end before
