I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but we all know that the cooling fan only comes on when the engine temperature reaches 210 degrees. Could this cause any damage to the engine over time and would you recommend installing the mod switch?

I know thats your first post so I'll forgive you :D
Yes, the engine does run hot and this is caused by a number of reasons.
1) 195°F Thermostat
2)Stock fans dont come on until its 210-225F!!!
3) Undersized Radiator
4) Too much glycol in the coolant mixture
With a 160F Thermo, a Fan switch, and more water than glycol in the mixture, you'll be able to idle at 160-180F all day long
It shouldn't cause reliability problems says GM, but I believe it will, so I try to keep mine under 195F coolant wise no matter what. I prefer mine to run between 165-180F.
Do some searches on key words and you'll discover a lot... Welcome to the board!! 2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
