My car is 5 1/2 years old, 80K+ miles. I still have the original battery. I've been wondering if the battery might die soon. I had the shop test it and it still reads like a new battery.
Is this normal or am I just lucky?
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

If it were me, I'd get a new battery. But since Florida doesn't get cold, you won't have to worry about waking up one morning, it's -10F and your car won't start. Since your battery still performs well, you'll probably get warnings when it does start to fail.....like it will crank slower, or your lights will dim at stoplights.
50K miles or 5 years is usually the time when that stuff needs to be replaced.
Thats cool it's lasting that long. When I lived in Kansas, my batteries always died when It got cold. (40 or lower) but we did have 2 cold days in Fl. last winter.

I'm still amazed... my girlfriend is going strong and hers is ~ 5years old but the car only has 36k. Just surprised it lasted that long in the FL heat.
I am on my 2nd with 50k. Just put a new one in my bros '02 dodge with 60k.
