p0420 code

or something to that extent.

i have an after market high flo cat and catback exhaust both made by magnaflow. are these causing this? do i need 02 simulators?

this system has been on the car since july with no problems. except one time this same code came up about 2 months ago and i had autozone clear it. now it is up again, and wont go away.

thanks for the help, if i need 02 simulators..where to get them?

O2 sim behind the CAT would take care of this. Yes, your Exhaust could be the culprit. Not allot of places advertise these anymore because the EPA has cracked down on them. Use GOOGLE.

your 02 sensor is reading too hot with the high flow cat. if you get the sim, you should be fine. go to autozone when after you put the sim in, and let them clear it for you again.

sometimes the code won't come back right away. maybe you just drove longer and or harder which could have pulled the code again

If you can wait, I am going to try and install my $5 o2 sim in a friend's barn this week. If it works you can save yourself $35.

With my car the cat efficiency code takes a week to pop after I clear it.
