Hello everyone I'm asking if anyone knows why camaro's top out at 125MPH if they are the 3.4L model. I was driving home and I decided to floor it to see what the car had and she topped out at 125MPH then my fuel was cut off does anyone know how can I take that restriction off. I also plan to turbo charge it since people on the forums have been bragging that they can do 8 pounds of boost on a stock motor.

Re: Top Speed ?
Hell, I'm glad yours goes to 125. My speedometer does, but the governor (what you're talking about) kicks in at 110. Mine is a 93 3.4L Camaro. The top speed limit is controlled by the ECU. And there is not really a way to tune it or so I've heard. If I remember right, OBDII wasn't used until 96, but the 95 and I think 94 used a sort of b**tard OBDII setup, though it's not truly OBDII. I think the 3.8 guys can run 10-12lbs of boost on theirs stock, but ours is like 6-8 safely, but 10 isn't unheard of.Originally posted by LETZRIDEI've never touched a rear end before

Re: Top Speed ?
Ok, you just need to get rid of the governor. Like.. are you guys just doing top speed races then? I don't understand the point.. You could make a lawnmower go 200 with the right gears. Hey, why don't you work on that. That'd be somethin I'd want to see :excited: :burn:
