Yes, one of those auto part stores will carry the bulb but im pretty sure sylvania hasnt come out with replacement fog light bulbs yet in the silverstar..

They should have a book that will tell you what foglight # is!.

Its an 894x & there is no Silver Star for it.On Ebay I found several replacement 894 bulbs that should fit with the claims of HID looks to them.Bought several 9005 supposed HID look bulbs & the best seem to be Street Glows.Don't think they make fogs though, know one thing I'd stay away from Primiertek HID look bulbs on Ebay ,they're so damn blue you can barely see!

All the "HID look" bulbs have less light output than standard bulbs since they have tinting over the glass which blocks some light.

Call me old fashioned, but doesn't adding more power to fog lights defeat the purpose?

Don't think so on, the C5 forum a lot of memebers there including me put 899 50 watt bulbs in our fogs instead of the 27.5 watters that were standard.More light the better, thats how it seemed to me enjoyed the extra light. As for all HID look bulbs being less powerfull the only ones that I personaly got that were better than stock were 9005 100 watt Streetglows, or 9005 Silverstars, all put in low beams, but SSs have a very short life. You can also get Toshiba HIR light that are better than stock, but no blue tint like the SGLs or SSs.

I guess it depends on what you are going for. Unlike all mini-van and SUV drivers, I do not use my fog lights unless there is fog. (That must be me being old-school.) In fog, less light (and a different angle, of course) is better.

If your fog lights are angled properly, the light they give off should not really help you in normal driving conditions because you should be looking down the road, not directly in front of you anyway.
