  • Gas Guzzler

Ok yea so after a couple weeks of spending so much on gas i put $20 in today and i use premium cuz of stupid jet chip.. and from totally empty it got my needle right on the full mark.. and i set the Trip on odometer.. drove normal for 35 miles and its at 3/4 of a tank now.. so i know thats not right 35 miles per 1/4 tank, thats like what 140 MPG thats BS, im spending around $10 in gas. Now what can i check out to see whats killing me here, tires are week old so i know its not tire pressure, i bought new fuel filter two days ago but havent been able to put that in. but i mean would that really kill the gas that much?

the fuel gauge is inacurate, if the needle is on the full mark then your tank is not full. the needle goes way passed the full mark when it actually is full so therefore you get more than 35 miles per 1/4 tank.

Due to that shape to the tank, the first half of the tank is bigger then the second half, according to the needle.

Don't rely on just your guage, reset your trip odometer, I know I can get at least 230 miles to the tank before I need to start looking for a gas station, and that is will a bad egr.

If you are worried about gas mileage. Drive conservativley, don't keep extra pounds of junk in your car, like tools, and such. And a good tuneup will do wonders.

ok yea i know that i could put like 5 more gallons or so more in after the full mark but just saying 35 miles per 1/4 tank just doenst seem right, but it might be, i had tune up month ago.

I can go over 130 miles before i hit the fulll line when i fill up my car so that is not a quarter of the tank you need to remember that chevy's are weird like that my tahoe is the same way

You might want to check on o2 sensors because my mpg went way up when I changed those.

I was averaging like 21 before, now I get about 28. The most I have ever gotten is 29.5.

              Yeah...
              o2 sensors, plugs, wires, etc...
If you had a tune-up a month ago did something get messed up and your bad mileage start a month ago?
