put the bolt back in and top off the fluid in your radiator? why were you taking the bolt out in the first place?

ohh yea, you'll spill a lot more coolant before that project is over anyways.

Does the timing chain should be replaced after a number of miles?

you dont have to take the waterpump off the timing cover, there are 2-3 bolts that only goes trough the pump and into the cover. If youre not shure about who, just take them all off and gently push the timing cover off whit the pump still on it, and when its off/loose, put the "pump to timing cover bolts" back in so the pump doesnt loosen from the cover. -less work. :) Just remember to use some type off silicone stuff on the bolts that goes into the water. :)

you have to take the water pump off to replace the timing chain in just about 99.9% of GM engines to do it the correct way

I just did a cam in my car. We took the timing chain cover off with the water pump still attached. The pump needs to be replaced now :(
