My signal lights are going haywire!! They've lost their rythm. They'll click once then twice, then they stop for a couple of seconds then start again. It happens on both sides. I checked my lights and they are all in good working order(front and back). I think it might be the flasher but it was just replaced about 6 mos ago by the dealer(the signal lights went out completely then). Can the flasher really go out again that fast? I did a search to see where the flasher is located but still can't find it. Has this happened to anyone? Can anyone help me find this stupid flasher so I can fix it myself and not have to pay the dealer another 100 bucks? Thanks.

just replace the flasher yourself. You can get a new one for like $12. You can never really know for sure if they replaced it or not2004 Silver Impala Faster than my Firebird

3.4L Red 1995 Pontiac Firebird For Sale

If it's not the flasher, pull all the bulbs and clean all the sockets with contact cleaner. Apply dielectric grease to the sockets when you install the bulbs. Check each socket by wiggling each bulb and each wire while the signal is flashing. You can achieve anything for which you are prepared to pay the price.
--ATTILA THE HUN

Does your voltometer surge when you gas it in neutral? Any other problems similar to this? I have noticed that my lights have dimmed a couple times and the voltmeter did surge, however the alternator was supposedly replaced last year at the dealer also. Well if it is my flasher, where exactly is it located? I know its under the dash on the drivers side but can you give me a liitle more info on its location? Thanks.1999 Firebird (black)
Y87 package
Whisper lid
FRA
Raised airbox
K & N Filter
Removed MAF screen
180 thermostat
3\" catalytic converter
Cat-back exhaust
Flowmaster
\"Fool you can bet, that I can dance underwater and not get wet\"

Today when I set my alarm I noticed that the light on the left front Quarter panel did not light up. Could this small piece of sh*t bulb be the cause of my week long headache? I'm gonna change out the bulb tomorrow but I thought I would get your opinions. :eek:1999 Firebird (black)
Y87 package
Whisper lid
FRA
Raised airbox
K & N Filter
Removed MAF screen
180 thermostat
3\" catalytic converter
Cat-back exhaust
Flowmaster
\"Fool you can bet, that I can dance underwater and not get wet\"

I finally got around to changing the bulb on the left front quarter panel but no luck. The signals refuse to cooperate. I'm gonna try to change the flasher but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what exactly am I looking for under the dash? Is it real difficult to change? Any info is greatly appreciated.1999 Firebird (black)
Y87 package
Whisper lid
FRA
Raised airbox
K & N Filter
Removed MAF screen
180 thermostat
3\" catalytic converter
Cat-back exhaust
Flowmaster
\"Fool you can bet, that I can dance underwater and not get wet\"

If you are going to do any of your own work on the car, you should probably invest in a repair manual (Like a Haynes).
But for the time being, the flasher is a “canister shaped unit located under the dash, in a clip, to the left of the steering column.”
While you are changing the flasher, check the incoming voltage if possible. With the flasher connected and one of the turn signals on check the brown wire going to the flasher. It should remain relatively steady.
I don’t think it is the flasher though. Make sure the fuse is not only good, but has a good connection too the fuse box. And check all of your turn signals and make sure they work properly. Do it with your parking lights on, check all 4 corners, and make sure none of the parking lights dim when the turn signal flashes.
If any of the 4 corners don’t work, find their corresponding ground points and check them. (If you can’t find that out here, check over at www.cz28.com there is always someone with a Factory Service Manual over there)
When you changed the bulb upfront, did the socket look corroded at all?LS1 RX7! || Full Gallery

LT1 Header Informtion/survey

No the socket was not corroded and I've checked all my signals and they seem to be working properly. Thats why I think it might be the flasher. I'll check the corresponding ground points and fuses.1999 Firebird (black)
Y87 package
Whisper lid
FRA
Raised airbox
K & N Filter
Removed MAF screen
180 thermostat
3\" catalytic converter
Cat-back exhaust
Flowmaster
\"Fool you can bet, that I can dance underwater and not get wet\"
