• What the hell? My car is LIGHT!

I weighed my car last night...

2000 v6 5-speed Hardtop

-1/2-3/4s a tank of gas.
-Jack, but no spare
-Useless crap in the back seat, not too much tops 40-50 lbs.
-Full interior
-everything on the car, including paper filter
-Zr1s with 275s
-Even had the windshield resoivoir filled(I usually empty it)

Options.
Monsoon
Power windows
Power locks
Power mirrors
Cruise control
Rear defrost

My car weighed in at 3272. Too bad with me its about 3600

With that weight we thought it might have been inaccurate even though we calibrated it, so we weighed me with the car, weight went up my weight. We took my car off the scale and we weighed me, then shane, then another person and the weights were all pretty accurate.

Maybe said I was lighter then shane's car though. And when i got on it with my car gave me the same weight as when I got on it without my car.

good stuff, especially with all the power... perhaps you have an acid-dipped body? camaro go-kart

EDIT: there is a coal yard right across the street from my apartment and it has a scale that it uses to weigh dumptrucks. the thing is suprisingly precise but i'm not sure how accurate it is... reads to 20 lbs! i might sneak out and give 'er a whirl tonight since you have peaked my interest. i don't even have t-tops, wonder if i could break the 3200 mark?

I have been told of a local place that will weight my car and be more accurate but this scale was accurate probably within 5 lbs. at the track.

Surprising though...

My 94 was stripped and 3200 when it was prepped to race.

wow...
if yours weighed in at 3272 Eric...

I didn't have power windows/locks, or the big 17"ers with 275's, or the crap in teh back seat...
I bet my car was under 3200 lbs :whoa:

wow, i wonder what mine weighs? its a 98 with no options, hardtop, 5 speed with no rear seats/jack and spare/heat sheilding/front bumper support and aluminum driveshaft for even more weight reduction... even with the 3" exhaust, ive shaved off some decent weight.

I checked in at 3250 before a ****ton of mods and added lightness. Just you all weight ... ::pun::
If I did it again I'm sure that I'm easily under 3200 ... maybe 3125

I weighed in at 3350 with me and a friend in the car once. That was before my stereo though.

I think I need to lighten my car.

When I go to the track my spare/jack/back seats/and passenger seat are gonna go.

What else can be taken out?

I know when I put my 3.8L in (and LSD and subframe connectors, and strut tower brace) it will weigh a little more, but I'm goin for as little as possible.
