man you really need to start reading what people are posting or get professional help with your car before you hurt something. either cap will work, but id get the regular one.

        Sounds like you have issues...

From your pictures, it looks like you have the usual dex-cool gunk build up. It's the dookie brown stuff. I can promise you its all over your radiator fins, hoses, lines.

You should do the bleeding, filling procedure with your heater settings on high. If you feel hot air coming from your vents that means coolant is circulating. If you don't feel warm air after 5 minutes or so...you probably have a stuck stat.

But if everything else checks out, you might have a gunk clogged temp sensor.

I recommend reverse flushing your system...Prestone has a system that you can adapt to your heater core return hose to "reverse" flush your system from the core to the radiator. Much more effective then sticking your water hose down your radiator.

JumpInTheFire, I hate (sorta) to bust your balls but dude. DUDE. DEEWWWDUH. If you read half as much as you typed you wouldn't be posting or having half as many problems as you've encountered with your car. Find someone that can help you and hold your hand through this stuff till you get a good grip on it cause otherwise your car might be doomed. Then besides asking where to buy a thermostat you'll be asking where to buy a car. Seriously though, I'm not trying to be mean but honest.

Sorry dude, I started working at the local auto repair shop, cleaning floors, at like 13. So, I do sorta know how you feel... It gets better, you just need to find someone around that can give you some hands on help. Even though I sometimes hate to work on cars, I CAN. I've built 4bangers to 400 cu. in. V8's, unfortunately without some help there is usually some fk-ups...
