when you say not working at all, do you mean it jumps around and doesnt give an accurate reading, or do you mean its completely dead and the needle doesnt move at all...?
It stays above full all the time, but if the car is sitting turned on idiling within about 2 minutes it will drop to empty and have the check gauge light come on and then when you drive it, it will move back up to full and stay there, so it moves around.
ive heard something about the electrical connector at the tank having issues staying connected, but im willing to bet the sending unit has taken a crap.
if its going from full to empty theres an issue somewhere beyond the connector. with a fuel tank sending unit being basically a potentiometer (a device that reads different impedances) attached to a float its pretty cut and dry... bad sending unit :(
foggy headlights? wetsand... buff... WAX!!! if nissan motorsports is nismo does that mean honda motorsports is homo?
unfortunately yes. if you find a way around it please do let me know. im looking at a similar situation, mine works but its on its way out :(
it only reads from 3/8ths of a tank or higher and it bounces all over the place 75% of the time.
it figures you can buy a pump by itself from an aftermarket company, but to get a sending unit you have to buy the whole assembly direct from gm. only good thing about that is the fact that i get 33% off dealer price for parts :/
If it is the sending unit, I wouldn't spend $400 on a pump, just put in a walbro for $110 and a sending unit.
