• How do you jack up your front with that rock gaurd in the way?

I have a new jack and I'm trying to jack up the front for an oil change, but that plastic gaurd thing is in the way.. it's too dangerous to try from the side.. how do you get around that?

NEVER i mean NEVER have only a jack as the only support! I have heard too many stories of people being crushed by the cars they love Do it right, buy either a pair of rhino ramps ( they work awesome ) and put something to block the rear tires, or buy 2 jackstands. Always block off the rear tires tho. becareful!

I don't use ramps I have a pair but can't get the car on them, so I just use jackstands. I get it up by going on the side of that airdam and jack it up from the very center there is some kind of plate.

well you see, i have this really strong friend.... wait... no thats not it.

I do always make sure to use a jack and a jackstand, and make sure you block the wheels too. Theres a place behind the front wheel where you can jack it up

Ramps work well too

NO No no..
Fist look at http://www.thenebula.com/firebird/oil/
In the picture with me on my back, you will notice some wood under the tire.
I had the same problem. I got some scrap wood and made a little ramp. I drove up on to the 2x4 and it gave me enough room to move the jack lever enought to get it started.

As of now, I put the jack in from the side, and do it that way. Although it does take a VERY long time with a floor jack, due to the range of movement for the handle being very small under there.

When the car comes back from the shop I'll be picking up a set of Rhino ramps.

Well I have factory ground effects, and lowering springs. To get my little jack under there, I have to get the spare tire jack out, get the car up high enough with it so that I can get the hydrolic jack under the center of the car. I also crank the wheels all the way so that way I can slide the jack in by the wheel well, because my jack is very short, and with the ground effects there is no room for movement.
