  • Spark Plug Gap

What is the gap on the spark plug for 3.8. I just bought some Ac Delco Platinum plugs and was wondering what to set them at.

Chilton Manual lists the gap for a '98 3800 V6 as .045 in.

Though I do see many people here on the boards listing the gap at .060. Why is this?

Sorry. I have a 2000 Firebird and the owners manual says to gap the V-6 and the V-8 to .060 inch gap

The underhood sticker should say .060. The sticker supersedes whatever is in the manual. My factory plugs were gapped at .060 in my '98 when I took them out.

I did have to pull them down to .045 in order to run them with nitrous.

                I thought .045 was for the 3.4's
