I was out in the garage cleaning up, and I found my old thermostat. I always thought that it was a 195, even thought the tech database says its 180. Well anyway my thermostat said 195 on the bottom of it. I was just wondering if I have a freak 99 or what?

I'm pretty sure all the 4th gens, at least the 3.8's all had the 195* thermo stock.
The thermo mod started out using a 180* I think, but then went to the 160 hoping for a more drastic effect.
EDIT
Although, going though my books, I can't seem to find anything right now that backs me up. lol

My stock thermostat was marked 195, and autotap consistently reported a steady 195 reading (unless I got on it, or was sitting still), on my '98. From the GM parts list:
95-97 GM 24506986 (AC Delco #131-115)
98-01 GM 24505924 (AC Delco #131-120)
A couple of years ago I listed the 98 has having a 195, and got *****ed at by owners who said they had a 180 - so I changed it. GM lists different part numbers, so you tell me.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

Robert, perhaps there's just a slight design change in the thermo's. GM did do a lot of stuff between 97 and 98.Keith - Chicago
HP Tuners - PCM Reprogramming
97 Firebird V6 to LS1 swap
V8 9.967@132.78 1.322 60\' NA Heads/Cam
V8 10.295@128.48 1.363 60\' NA Cam Only
V8 10.987@119.31 1.422 60\' NA Stock Internals
V6 13.674@98.22 NA
V6 12.394@104.91 N20 100HP
