Well my girlfriends 96 bird makes a loud gurgleing noise at idle. I didn't get a chance to pop the hood and hunt the sound down because she had to go to work. I was thinking maybe her coolent was low and as it was heating up it was sucking the resevior tank? Does anyone know of some common problems with this as a symptom.
I have the pleasure of fixen her car tommarow, so I will update with what I find.
Does the gurgaling stop when you cut off the engine? I was workin on an LS1 today and it was making all these crazy noises when we were done taking it for a "test Drive" after installing a new torque arm.. It was acctualy prettty funny for a moment we though we must of sucked up some really angry unsuspecting small animal..
anyway,
we filled it up with coolent and the problem seemd to go away.. so, check her coolent leval first..
Now she tells me that it is bogging down on accelleration, the car is about 3 months new to us, so we are gonna take it in to get a oil change at my mechanic, he does free diagnostics for me. It has some other problems too, ie starter and fuel filter.
thanks
That gurgling sound is coming from the radiator exit/entrance on the driver's side of the car just under the intake plumbine (at least on mine). This is a very common occurance and goes away when the thermostat opens up to allow circulation of the coolent.

I found the problem, there was practicly no coolent left. At the end of the dipstick was a thick brownish goo, what the hell is that, the car doesn't run hot, but I know that can not be good.
