ok... does the block from any GM that is a 3800 series II same as the fbody ones? like from manilforlds and stuff? i mean would it be a complete bolt on? how bout those 3800 series III from new Grand Prix's and Buicks? how bout those 3.5 or 3.9 VVT v6 that has almost 270hp from a torrent GXP and 300+ for a CTS?
just wondering... because mine already has 260k on it and theres no way im gettin an lt1 or ls1 just a 6...
Horsepower is how fast you hit the Minivan... Torque is how far you take the Minivan with you... :wavey:

I can tell you that the blocks are the same on all 3800 series II cars. So if your asking if you get a front wheel drive car and take everything off it down to the block and then put all your F-body stuff, like heads and manifolds, on it then yes it will work. But just to be clear with out some sort of fabrication you can not just swap the heads and manifolds between FWD and RWD.

ok so basically if you use the 3.8 from those cars you cant use their components (manifolds... etc) but if you strip it down to bare block it will work right? because its the same block?

correct, I was told by someone that the 3.8 series II blocks that came from supercharged FWD were thicker blocks but I don't know if thats a 100% true or not.
A L36 block is the same across the board...but RWD Blocks have different engine mounts.
You can use all the internals. Heads are interchangable. Intake manifolds won't work with our cars, it won't clear the cowl. Obviously exhuast manifolds won't work either.
Accessories vary depending applications.
I'm under the impression that non-supercharged blocks and supercharged blocks are the same. S/C variants use low compression pistons and harden rods to better suit the boost.

it shows the L67 is a 3.8 block that is supercharged, which comes back to the OP original question of....

So yes it will work but it is diffrent than the L36.
It will work but the block is diffrent or it would have the same code. It probably is the thickness like I was told by someone else. They were wanting to buy the block out of a bonneville I have to build a boosted motor for a firebird but then after research realized I had the same block they allready had
Agreed on what everyone has said. The new 3.5, 3.9, ect are 60 degree V6 motors and are totally different than the 3.8. GM doesn't make the 90 degree V6 anymore.

the only thing that should be different engine internal wise would be the pistons, since the supercharges cars have lower compression ratios
if you went to the dealer and purchased a 3800 II natraully aspriated engine it would be the same motor used in all 3800 II and III cars(89017861), it comes with tech notes that say change the flywheel and oil filter adapter. the only thing to change is simple stuff, hardcore engine will all interchange.
