I was looking at the same part recently.
Seems to involve our '96 models as well. 1993-1997 models use the same headlamp I believe so that might be a typo but then again the plug ends might be different which you might have to check.
As for the upgrade working, it's been mentioned you have to crack open your headlamps and swap the old ones out with your new bulbs and hi-temp RTV sealant.
You might expect a trade-off with the brighter lamps and that is the chance of the wires burning off due to the high amperage needed to power these fancy bulbs and thats something you might consult in the Stereo/Electronics or Appearance forums.
I just wrote to the Ebay seller and will post his reply.

The Ebay headline is wrong for our f-body's, but the bulbs may be compatible with other cars in those years. For camaro's, the 9005 & 9006 bulbs will fit from 98 and up, not 97. <Unless the conversion has already been done

The conversion is really easy though. I've done it a few years ago and I haven't had a single bulb burn out yet.

-Remove each headlight housing.
-Take a pair of pliers and twist/turn the old bulb in the housing until it breaks loose. There is a grey plastic cement holding it in, but it will break loose with a little bit of force.
-Clean area up on housing to accomodate new bulb.
-(I used) High-temp silicone around the edge of the housing and apply the new bulb. Let dry for a few hours before installing.
-Enjoy your new bulbs!

Remember, don't touch the halogen bulb it'self with your fingers. Also, if you want to get nice halogen bulbs to start with, go with Sylvania Siverstar's. You can usually find good deals on them in ebay too.

One more thing, the headlight plug will fit with no modification. The 9005 & 9006 bulbs for the 98 + Camaro's have the same connector as our 93-97's. ;)

Here's the reply I received from the Ebay seller...
"HI
We cannot get any info for 93-96, can you check with dealer or manual see if it is 9006/9005
or something else as we carry most of the bulbs
thanks ~ techscale@yahoo.com"

I think this reply helped a lot!

Yaba ,I put in 9005 (hi-beam sliver Stars)in my low beams for maximum brightness.I have a '98 Camaro & they fit in the lowbeam socket after a small amount of filing of the tabs on the SStars.Just look at your 9006's & modify from those tabs. You'll also have to cut the 2 ridges inside of the electrical connector part of the SStars.Believe me I tried manny types of zenon lights,Nokias,Eurolites,Cool blues,& none could match the 9005 SS in my lowbeams.I was driving abreast of a late model BMW,& my SS's were as bright as his HID's ,thats how good this set up is!
