My fuel pump went out around Thanksgiving and I've been searching around the world for a decent priced one every since. I have a mechanic that can do it, I just need the part for a good price. Anyway, I want to know should I replace it with a performance pump such as a Walbro high pressure pump or a stock AC delco one or something like it. If I should go stock, does anybody know a good place to get a good fuel pump for a good price???:naughty: Thanks.

Re: Stock or Performance???
get a walbro one. It is way cheaper and it is also better. the stock replacements are a rip off

Re: Stock or Performance???
I got mine from zzperformance.com
You can get them from a lot of vendors or from someone on a v8 board parting out their modified car.

Re: Stock or Performance???
yea you can use one from a v8. as for longevity, it all varies but a walbro will last just as long or longer than stock as long you don't run it dry all the time which will burn it up

Re: Stock or Performance???
yea you can get the v8 walbro kits and they will work. Just make sure it is a real walbro and not one of those fakes that have been floating around

Re: Stock or Performance???
So do you know if any of these links have good pumps? I listed a few that I found, but don't know if they're specifically for my car. One guy told me that a Walbro pump won't fit my car because the 2000 V6 pump comes with a type of all-in-one sending unit kind of pump. Is this true?

Re: Stock or Performance???
I dunno guys. I've got the LT1 kit from AutoPerformanceEngineering.com and it all looks good. We're putting it in either today or tomorrow, so I'll keep you updated on that. I paid 118 and some change for it. Free shipping on any items over 70 bucks. That was the best deal I found. Plus, it came with the parts needed; strainer, hose, foam sleeve, wiring harness, etc.Originally posted by LETZRIDEI've never touched a rear end before
