where can i get this bolt?

on my 97 camaro 3800... i need the bolt that goes near the bottom of the throttle body. does autozone sell this bolt?

You need to explain more clearly about what bolt you need. Is it from the TB? You say near, so exactly what area are you talking about?

its the bottom bolt that holds the tb onto the rest of the engine. theres one on top and one on bottom. the tb is the thing going to the air filter.



also. what degree thermostat should i get for my 98 firebird 3.8. it runs hot without my 'manual fan switch' on.. and what brand. i bought the cheapest one last time. what price range should i buy this time? i'm getting it at autozone.

There are 3 bolts for the TB, I look and see what the bolt specs are, as in thermo, you could go with a Hypertech power stat 160 degree #1009, should be under $20. I think Autozone sells them.

The bolt is a M6 x1 x 36. If Autozone doesn't have it. Just go to a hardware shop like ACE Hardware or Home Depot.

I have a hypertech 160 thermostat and it runs perfect. Hits 190 when the car is idling for more than 15 minutes.

so a low temp thermostat will help with overheating?

will a Valucracft 160 thermo be just as good as the hypertech 160?

you get what u pay for imo. Valuecraft=valvoline.

I use to work at a valvoline and I dont even use their oil (not b/c it's not good, I just dont like it personally)

the original bolt isnt thread all the way up and down. theres a smooth spot at the front and the end. is it okay if its thread all the way up and down?

As long as it is the right thread and is as long you'll be fine. Don't over torque them down either, it is Alm.

just find someone thats parting car out or go to dealer. I've gotten many bolts from dealer because I wanted a specific one and the most I've ever paid for a single bolt was 3 bucks and that was a big bolt for my panhard bar.
