• Does using different oil filter, oil, spark plugs make a difference?

Do these things make a noticable difference?
If yes, what does a spark plugs upgrade improve? etc etc

Of course they do. Better spark plugs will give you better spark (duh) which translates into better engine performance. Using performance air filters help clean your engine cleaner and let more air through giving you better performance. For the most part oil filters are oil filters, they sell different kinds and claim they're performance oil filters but you don't notice anything with them. You could get one just for the piece of mind but any decent oil filter will work just as well.

As for plugs, I have tried several nothing too amazing in the performance aspect, but I will say I have run inot less problems with stuff.

Example bosch platinums, gave me more problems then AC delco rapidfires.

oil, I didn't see much of a difference but I lsot some leaks when I switched to valvoline Maxlife over mobil 1, jsut becasue mobil 1 is more "watery" and mroe prone ot leak.

lucas oil stabilizer is the only oil additive that I have ever seen do anything, basically raise my oil pressure a little.

If the plug fires on time, it will deliver the most performance you can get from a plug. The only thing you should expect from a plug is for it to fire on time and consistently, if they don't you lose power. Whether its made of iridium or platnum or copper it doesn't matter, those are just ways to keep it firing on time and consistently Don't go looking for 20hp from plugs, you won't find it... well you might but it requires indexing, I wont get into this here.

Better oil? Well there's a lot of controversy about oil, everyone has an opinion, see http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi for more information :D

Also the same site above applies to filters.

My personal preference right now is 10W-30 or 10W-40 Valvoline Maxlife with a purolator, supertech, or AC Delco filter.

What about synthetic oil? Does anyone think its better than conventional?

I think hot rod magazine did an engine build up where they dynoed with synthetic and they showed an 11hp peak increase and an average of 7hp across the board.
I have made a lot of money in my life, most of which I spent on cars and women.<p>The rest I have blown.
