  • Wipers in up position

Well on the way home from work I tunred on the wiper (wet roads) and when a truck got in front of me I had to turn from delay to a slow speed... I noticed that the wiper arms jerked. So now when I turn the wipers off, they go straight up... they still work fine but its kinda annoying driving around with wipers all the way up

Anyone have any idea what it could be? I'm guessing something got off track, but I don't know. I was hoping someone had the same problem and can tell me an easy fix. i tried pushing them back down, but they come right back up. When the delay is on, they stay towards the bottom as they should, but as soon as I turn it off, back to the top they go.

Tell them it breaks up the airstream before it hits your car, therefore making you 75% more air resistant :). J/K. Last time I heard of that, it was from someone replacing the motors and putting them in upside down. Might be a sign of your motor dying, or a retaining clip or something may have snapped and allowed them to turn around. I'd just start pulling them apart when you get a chance and see if you find anything loose.

It's your wiper motor dying. I had it happen to me. Everytime I stopped the wipers they went down like they were going to go to their resting position, then jerked all the way up.

Kinda funny story, I let a garage fix it for me. Got the car back, no problems, 2 days later I went to squirt my windshield with fluid and the squirters shot forwards instead! If they had a little more pressure, I might've left them that way for a bit and shot them at the cars in front of me...

A friend of mine have had this problem the past month. There is a little plastic part that is broken.

Well as soon as it warms up a bit, I'll look around. I wouldn't think its the motor... but you never know. I'll check to see if a clip or something is broken and then check the motor.
