so ive been watching how i drive for about two months now...to see if i get any better mileage out of my car by different driving styles..and the results are on a full tank of gas all the way till the check gauges come on ...i get 95% of the time 250 miles city/highway and 300 straight hwy:bs:...and so even changing different driving styles this remains true....this is done as babying the car to floor it at pretty much every light.....my car just hit 97,000 so im asking...are there any sensors that can be changed or something done to the car or myself to change this for the better... motor is stock and has a k&n filter...i live at sea level in galveston tx...any advice will be put to good use thx:tup:

Re: little advice
^ true dat
is the car a manual or auto?
if its manual then you can conceivably get some pretty amazing gas mileage, autos are not known for getting the greatest comparitively speaking. sea foam your car through the intake vacuum line before you do your tune up. change the plugs, the wires, the oil and filter, if you havent switched to some sort of synthetic, then run some of that engine oil cleaner stuff and then switch it over to something along the lines of mobil 1, royal purple (very expensive), or just some sort of synthetic oil.
invest in a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust system those help quite a bit too! remove lead from right foot!!! best mod ive ever had for MPG!

Re: little advice
seafoam before changing o2 sensors btw. Just in case you loosen up something during the seafoam run.
also do a FULL tuneup with all filters and fluids changed. Air pressure in tires checked as well

Re: little advice
I'll agree with Kristen... though I hear she abuses other Camaros :-( As engines build up carbon on the heads, the compression ratio can increase slightly causing ping and retard... a higher octane gas will allow the engine to run with a better timing, improving efficiency.
Of course I'm not an expert on engine theory, but based on time spent with Chilton in the john, it sounded good to me.
