Trying to install a P.A

Im trying to install a police siren and P.A system and I need some help.

1-It tells me to connect the Module{For selecting siren volume and tones} to a under dash wire that has 12 volt power, were is that?

2} How do you get wires from the inside of the car to the engine compatment{Siren wires}

You should be able to tap into the back of your radio for the 12 volt power wire using a quick splice, it's an orange wire from the factory wire harness. To get the wires from inside of the car to the engine compartment, there is a grommet behind your pcm on the passenger side of the car that you can slide some wires through. You have to move your pcm outta the way, then you can see the hole. Hope this helps.

I have a aftermarket radio and the only orange wire I see Is one for illumination of the Cd-player faceplate. this thing is making me mad

The orange wire you need to tap into should not be the one comming from the back of your cd player, you should use the orange wire that is part of the factory wiring harness that is not removable from the car...let me know if your still having problems.

Okay, Is it going to be were I can pull it out and work with it or In the back somewhere? All I see is 1 orange wire coming off a white connector that says illumination.

Ok, maybe GM changed wire colors between our years..Look at the manual for your aftermarket cd player. Find the page which tells you what each colored wire connects with. Look for the one that says "constant 12 volts". Then pull out your cd player and look at the wires directly comming from the player and tap into the correct wire according to the manual.

Thanks for all your help, I got it now. Can you believe the only gave 1ft of wire for the speaker, you cant run that :mad:
