Rear Window Defroster????

My car has the rear window defroster but when i turn it on, only the top part of the defroster works, leaving the bottom half of my window still icy.

What's wrong with it??
How do i fix this?

Look closely at the thin metal lines that cross the rear window. Most likely one of them has a small break in it. That causes it to only defrost certain sections of the rear window. PepBoys sells a repair kit for that. Only about 5 bux.

If that was the case, why would the whole bottom part not work?? Do you think the whole bottom section is broke??

the flow of electricity is what heats the window and will heat to the break. The bottom is unplugged and that's why the ice is still there.

Good Point. First check the connectors on both sides of the inside rear window to make sure they are making a good connection. If it still defrosts half of the window, then go and check the thin metal strips inside.
One of them (or more) possibly has a minor break in it that needs repairing.
