  • looking for advice/opinions/experiences, 3800II

I've come to the point where I have to do something about the motor in my '99, and I've saved enough funds to do something special.

when I started researching, I had no idea there were so many choices among suppliers/shops.

I'd like to stay OBD-II compliant, and remain normally aspirated.

I've looked at sites such as Intense, COME Racing, and Stroked3800... but I'm having trouble deciding if any offer what I seek. I'd like the car to be able to do daily driving if need be...

    any referrals/recommendations/info appreciated :burn:

like it to be DD, but what are your track goals or hp goals?

I'd be thrilled with high 12's, but low-mid 13's would be fine.

forgot to mention, it's an A4, which I want to keep.
so, recommendations on torque converters welcome too :)

        whisper lid
        smooth bellows
        headers
        hi-flow cat
        catback exhaust
        3000 or 3500 stall
        75 dry shot of nitrous

That will get you your target range.

If you want to do it NA, skip the nitrous and get stage 3 heads/intake from abbottracingheads.com along with their NA camshaft. Good for low 13s then with a tune

I don't know what she's rolling her eyes for. It's is very feasible to stay NA and get a 12-second timeslip

Ah didn't catch the odbII complaint line that also said NA. thanks. :)

But yea NA 12s are going to take more work for sure than just using a power adder

The mod enc. is somewhat outdated if you ask me. There are some nice new mods that are not part of that site. Like longtube headers for example, they are now available from FFF. ;)

Can't wait to see the results on those when they get put on more than just the one test car. Doubt they'd have the same results on my car but anywhere close would be awesome.
