Ok I am having some problems with my moms firebird. Ok whenever it rained the car would not start the next day. It would try to turn over for a sec then stop. Well if you tried to turn it over a few times it would eventually start but would idle like crap like it was going to die. Well if you let it run for awhile the cars idle will smooth out and run just fine. Well last week the car got rained on for about a week. With out being started went to go start it today with the same thing as above but only this time it didn’t smooth out and there is steam coming out of the intake elbow and the oil dipstick. I checked the oil and it looks like there is water in but there is no white smoke coming out the exhaust. What is going on here? Thanks every one.

Sounds like time for CSPT (Coolant Sytem Pressure Test)
sounds like multible problems, moisture is getting under the hood somehow, maybe from weather maybe from poor performing parts, sounds like time to check each componet one by one.
in this oder
1. Check your engine Compression with a leak down test-Failure requires imediate repair
2. CSPT-your may have pin hole leak in a hose cause water spray on components after shutdown of engine
3. Treat gas for water contamination
4. Inspection of all ignition componets,
shade tree way of doing this: At night in an unlit area open the hood of your car with engine hot and running. take a garden hose with MIST sprayer and lightly mist wires with water to see if you see sparks jump around engine compartment.
