I have Acceleration Slip Regulation in my 2002 Camaro. When I drive should I leave it on or turn it off, Does it have any effect on gas mileage? Sorry if my question is dumb but I have never drove a nice car before and this stuff is new to me. Thanks for any help

Leave it off. Only use it when you're starting off from a stopped position in the snow or someplace where you don't have enough traction to get you going and then turn it off when you start moving. Otherwise you'll mess up your transmission.

It automatically comes on when you start the car. Why would you turn it off each time?

You would only want to turn it off if you plan on doing a smokey burnout :D

sounds like you're talking about Second Gear Start. It's different than the ASR.
If i'm right, ASR basically brakes the wheel that is slipping and directs power to the wheel that needs it (the one with traction). Nothing to do with the transmission
