my rear window defroster isn't working, and has been for probably around 6 months. my problem is that it completely doesn't work. the fuse is good and all the plating on the rear window is intact. i think that the climate control panel is the problem. cause the light that used to go on when i pushed the defrost button doesn't come on any more. any ideas? is this a common problem?

First - Look at getting a Haynes or Chilton Manual
and it is full of good info. If you have a voltmeter you can check the switch function by turning on the wsitch and shecking for power, if none check fuse. If power is present place the positive probe against the battery feed terminal on defogger grid and if the voltage is 6 when the negative lead is placed against the center of the heating element, you are fine...if it is 10 VDC there is a break between the midpoint and ground, if zero VDC the element is broken between midpoint and the positive side.
