Earlier this summer i was driving my car and i decided to turn on the headlights to flash at a friend of mine. As soon as i did that my guages all started to jump and i lost all power to my accessories. I had just had a new battery installed and i figured that GM techs could at least do their job right! anyway. I had to keep on the gas to keep the car from stalling. it's an auto so thats all i could do> i had to get home about 3 or 4 miles away. i get home and i shut it off. I turned it back on and it started right up and the stuff worked good. I wetn out for a drive but with my tool kit with. IT started acting up again when i turned on the headlights. I pulled over and the first thing i checked was the Damn mattery connections and low and behold the dumba$$'s forgot to tighten the connections. i tightened them and no problems since. Just thought i'd post that if anybody else had the same problem.
