Below 40. Your delayed throttle could be because of a code being set. If the idle settles out after a minute or so, it to could be from a code as well. Some codes put the PCM in "limp home " mode, so you can drive home with the problem.

if you are starting your car up cold, the idle rpms are going to be higher at first till the car warms up. Or is it more than it used to be?

i mean right at start up. like you know when you fire the car up it revs up a little bit then settles down to normal idle speeds. well mine flies up to 2k before settling down. see what im saying? if not you'll see when you start your car up tomorrow.

I get it, and yea it is normal for it to jump up at first till it warms up.

nonono...very very beginning as soon as you fire it up. it has never done this before and does it every time, even when warm. im not saying it stays there and idles at 2k. as soon as i fire the car up it revs up to 2k, then floats its way back down to 800ish 900ish at idle. it used to only go up to 1300 or so then back down to normal idle speeds. im talking about the first 2 seconds of the engine being on.

sounds to me like a case of "limp home mode"

wow thats funny, EXACT same thing that happened to my car as my bro mentioned, I was having some fun doing spirited driving and all a sudden WHAM car died and i slowly crept into a nearby apartment complex, started it up and it was fine babying it on the way home, my bro thought he had the tune fixed but it did it again, as of the end of fall before putting it in storage it was perfect :)
