  • Headlight repair.

Headlight went out yesterday night, I thought no biggie just get another bulb from the shop and all is well.

I went down to the dealership today (because it is closer than the parts store) and they said oh yea its 124.00!!!! As my jaw hit the floor I was in utter shock.

It's the front left side low beam that is out (high beams still work so do blinkers). They fella says because it is a 95 (3.4L btw) you have to install a new module that is around 130 bucks.

130 bucks for a flippin headlight? I can't belive it, if this is true - Chevy whats going on?!

Yeah.. Go to Pep boys.. They have the books in the headlight aisle that shows the exact part number you need by make/model/year.

Grr, doing the repair right now I am am at a loss.

I look out the lamp and unhooked it from the cables at the back. Now, there is a black connector on the bacl of the lamp turned at 90 degrees and it is sealed into the light. I took it off.

Now I have a black plastic connector one side has the plugs for the light cables and the other side has the bulb on it.

I can't get the bulb off, it is tacted on by four connections to the aluminum base.

Which peice am I replacing here? I an't get only the bulb out. Do I have to replace the lamp, or just the black connection/bulb peice?

          Help anyone?

Module??? Well, a motor for my head light was $270 when I went up the the local pontiac dealer...I just said, man, you can keep it, and walked out! Thats rediculas!!! I'm glad I found a way to fix mine for free, but I got two sealed high/low beams for 15 a piece at autozone. I'm sure the 95s are the same.

btw 98V6REDCAMARO, our cars have the high/low sealed beems, just one caseing, You might be think of 98 and up birds, which have seperate high and low.

Yeah, they're sealed. You can't take the light bulb out. You have to replace the whole surrounding structure. I baught mine for about 30 dollars from Pep Boys. You can get the hyper lights and just rip yours out and seal them up with silicone gasket sealer, or something like that. Someone did that on here. I suppose it works.
