i was taking my lower intake off and when i took it off i broke the little plastic hose that connects the bottom of the intake to something right behind the tensioner right above the water pump. I think it is for coolant.
It's a coolant elbow the help section at most parts stores has them as well as the dealer. I have a GM one out in the garage I can get the part number off of tomorrow, if you need it.
its like 8 bucks i believe its called a coolant bypass valve their are two and t5hey are slightly diffrent shapes id get 2 of each cause they are VERY fineky they have to be perfect or you have a monstrous coolant leak
$8? wow, I think I payed $5 after tax from autozone. There are 2 pipes in there. yeah I wish I didnt throw the package away, would toss in the part number too,
But go to your parts store, tell them you need a bypass valve pipe for 3.8L GM, they will get the part for ya in the HELP section. also, when you pull the parts out, make sure you get ALL of the plastic crap out of there or the pipe wont go in right.

meatyshells, what's your symptom to replace you gaskets.
I want to do it too because i loose coolant ans i found water on front of the engine and moisture on oil cap.
I couldn't find the hose in france. If someone could send me it by usps....

well im pulling the heads, and when i took off the lower intake, this hose snapped. Just needed to know what it was called. And i found out now thanks :)
