    I was driving my car and the ses light came on, so i drove to autozone and I has them scan it, the code is po1o3 can anyone tell me what that code means, thanks.

        I'm not positive but I think it has to be replaced.

          Doesn't automatically mean the MAF sensor has to be replaced. There are other things that could be the cause, but yes...the most common reason for this is a bad MAF sensor.

              You need the MAF so the PCM can measure the airflow going into the engine. If there's something wrong with it, the sensor could be sending back false results.

                ok i unplugged the battery to restet the code i turned the car on the ses light was off, until right after i unplugged the maf sp does this mean its ok, because the car doesnt run or idol any different. what i was wanting to know is if a maf has gone bad what will the car run like so ill know. thanks for all your help

                      Sometime a small electical hiccup or other anomaly can cause a sensor to throw a bad code. The first thing to do (which you did) is clear the code. A scanner works best, unhooking the battery for five minutes works well, too. If the code does not return, you should be fine. If it does return, it was not a hiccup and you should get it fixed for reasons already mentioned.
