Well now that im back @ college i can start research how to turn my cruizer Firebird into a monster! Anyways i wont have to much to spend this spring i have my GTU being restored so thats my main goal. But i woudl like to get the Firebird on the road to the 13's, i was think about the whisper lid/intake combo i see i many web sights, sound like about 20hp if i get both, or is that over-rated? I'm also curios as to how restrcitve the exhaust is, i was lookin @ a gtp before insurance rates scared me off, i know the u-bend and res on a GTp really restrict the flow, does the Friebird have the same problem? thanks for the help

You've got the non-tubular manifolds so they are more restrictive than the 2000 up models but they're not that bad. The 305 exhaust from the third gen f-bodies was horrible in comparison. I've heard some things about the stock y-pipe having some problems with smooth flow also. I wouldn't expect 20 HP from just the intake but maybe with the intake and cat-back you might. The lid is a good first mod from what I've heard but you'll obviously feel more with an exhaust upgrade too.

Start w/ the Lid and Filter.
Then do all the free mods you can do ( www.installuniversity.com )
Get a nice catback, or electronic cut-out.
Then a set of gears...3.73's would be my choice.
If you wanna go quick for a cheap price, juice it.
That should get you up in spead for a short while, until the bug bites harder and the wallet grows deaper, then you mod even more :cool:http://www.pbase.com/danny83/root
http://community.webshots.com/user/ttopbird96 [/URL]
00 NMB Formula M6
323.4HP, 336.5TQ
Lid, Filter, Cutout, all else stock :)
\"Let the modding begin!\"
