I was scheduled for a fluid and filter change in my transmission, so I bought 5 quarts of Mobil-1 ATF, and put it in my car. Drove home fine, felt kinda different. Later on that night as I was going to the grocery store, it was slipping ALL over. Took it to the transmission place, and it's being fixed as we speak. I was researching just now and it seems that a lot of F-body guys say that Mobil-1 is bad to put in autos because it is more likely to slip. Hmm...there goes $110 for the change down the drain, and however more it costs to fix my transmission :(

Man that sucks hard. Sorry to hear the bad news, however your little problem could benefit me. I have been having problems with my tranny slipping lately and I have been wanting a rebuild. So how much are you gonna pay for yours?

was the fluid that came out of the trans black or dark in color and thick? if so dont blame mobil 1. the damage was already done. when the fluid gets like that and u put new it it knocks all the dirt loose and fubars somethin.

wasn't black or any dark color. Most places by me charge about that much. I got my filter changed and my fluid flushed a few weeks ago for about the same price also (was in the 20's, didn't feel like laying on the ground in that temp.) There is a difference between a 30 dollar change, and a 100 dollar flush. You go to some place and pay 30 bucks, they just drop the pan, drain, and refill. 114K miles (the tranny was rebuilt at around 90 or 80K)
The shop called today and said it isn't the computer that is making the car slip....so they have to take apart the tranny to see what's wrong. :( This is gonna be expensive...
