  • flushing system found more problems

well I purchased this stuff from the dealer called PRO-TEC.

Its a radiator flushing system they said they use. I told them about this rust colored mud I had in my system, this is what they gave me.

Anyone ever use this stuff before? because I ran my car for atleast 20 mins with the heater on full blast and disco the bottom hose to rad and alot of fluids came out but not much brown muck. What am I doing wrong? I also replaced the bleeder valve so that works now.

But once I got under the car, I noticed some oil around the back of my pan. so I started thinking, oil pan gasket or rear main seal.. ugh..

upon further investigations, I saw RED FLUID around my shift linkage... yeah tranny fluid.. so the only thing I can think of is that my trans pan needs a new gasket OR the seal around the shift link that goes in the trans needs replaced. WHY ME! lol

I was flushing the system and still noticed a lil white smoke coming from the pipes aswell as a lil fluid coming out. its not oil, its water.. So I did replace my intake upper and lower gaskets, but Im starting to think I didnt tighten the bolts right, I cant remember.. i took it apart and started putting it back together, then i had to leave for a week and came back and started putting her back together.

I have a small tapping noise on my pass side motor, i cant seem to get a steady stream out of the bleeder valve, the mud in the system isnt coming out...
An oil pan gasket ISNT cheap, now i cant find a transmission gasket anywhere...

I have searched for the how to on flushing the system out comepletly but cant seem to find it... I found the knock sensor but it was too hot to take out i dont know how many times I burnt my hands trying to take it out to drain the block.

Does anyone know where the thred if to flush system completly?
Know where I can get a transmission gasket
know of a cheaper way to get or find an oil pan gasket

I have the upper and lower gaskets again, just in case I have to change them out. I havent noticed a HUGE amount of coolant loss... i took the cap off when I got home from driving it and coolant went flying and I got burnt.... again....

anyone have any ideas??? Im about to go out and work on my windows.. such a nice day, wish i had some t tops, i would do my conversion.. haha I have everything I need but glass and the headliner.. lol

i'll get pics for everyone to see once my girl gets up from her nap..

Let me know guys. ya'll know these cars better than the red neck down the street trying to tell me what to do.

Re: flushing system found more problems

putting tap water in a cooling system bad? I filled it back up after flushing it all out after a couple times, put appx 50/50 water and antifreeze (non-dexcool) in there. when i open my bleed valve its like nothing but forced steam is coming out, at first its water then its like a jet of water filled with micro bubbles. then after a min its nothing but steam.

I think i need some help here guys... this whole flushing system is driving me nuts because I really dont know if its full or not. I had the cap off and it was over flowing. once I hit the throttle a little, it went down, but once it went to complete idle, it just over flowed the radiator agian. SO I decided to put the cap back on... I have read and read numerous amounts of threds on flushing system, and so far it isnt anything like mine.

    I have the 3.8L BTW.

anyone help? I understand with water heating up you'll have steam, but wow.. i had the screw loose for over 5 mins and it was nothing but steam coming out. Didnt know if that was the air in the system or if it was because the water was hot and the pressure needed somewhere to go...

    HELP HELP HELP! Lol

also, its over heating aswell. after I flushed the system. dont know whats going on. Im about to sell the damn thing and get a 4cyl prius or something. hhahaha.

    Thanks guys,
